In this paper,partial synchronization (PaS) in networks of coupled chaotic oscillator systems and synchronization in sparsely coupled spatiotemporal systems are explored.For the PaS,we reveal that the existence of PaS patterns depends on the symmetry property of the network topology,while the emergence of the PaS pattern depends crucially on the stability of the corresponding solution.An analytical criterion in judging the stability of PaS state on a given network are proposed in terms Of a comparison between the Lyapunov exponent spectrum of the PaS manifold and that of the transversal manifold.The competition and selections of the PaS patterns induced by the presence of multiple topological symmetries of the network are studied in terms of the criterion.The phase diagram in distinguishing the synchronous and the asynchronous states is given.The criterion in judging PaS is further applied to the study of synchronization of two sparsely coupled spatiotemporal chaotic systems.Different synchronization regimes are distinguished.The present study reveals the intrinsic collective bifurcation of coupled dynamical systems prior to the emergence of global synchronization.

This paper investigates the monomer kinetics of polymer dispersed liquid crystal(PDLC)grating.Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectra are used in the studies of photoreaction kinetics.The results indicate that there is a relative stable stage arises after a very short initial stage.Based on FTIR studies,the monomer diffusion equation is deduced and necessary numerical simulations are carried out to analyse the monomer conversion which is an important point to improve phase separation structure of PDLC grating.Some simulation results have a good agreement with experimental data.In addition,thc effects induced by monomer diffusion constant D and diffusion-polymerization-ratio rate R are discussed.Results show that monomer conversion can be improved by increasing value of D.Besides,a good equilibrium state(R=1)is more beneficial to the diffusion of monomer which is important in the process of phase separation.

We investigate the wavefronts depinning in current biased,infinitely long semiconductor superlattice systems by the method of discrete mapping and show that the wavefront depinning corresponds to the discrete mapping failure.For parameter values near the lower critical current in both discrete drift model (DD model) and discrete drift-diffusion model (DDD model),the mapping failure is determined by the important mapping step from the bottom of branch γ to branch α.For the upper critical parameters in DDD model,the key mapping step is from branch γ to the top of the corresponding branch α,and we may need several active wells to describe the wavefronts.

Dynamical behaviours of the motion of particles in a periodic potential under a constant driving velocity by a spring at one end are explored. In the stationary case, the stable equilibrium position of the particle experiences an elasticity instability transition. When the driving velocity is nonzero, depending on the elasticity coefficient and the pulling velocity, the system exhibits complicated and interesting dynamics, such as periodic and chaotic motions. The results obtained here may shed light on studies of dynamical processes in sliding friction.

Spatiotemporal dynamics of the damped dc-driven Frenkel-Kontorova lattice is studied. Multistable topologies are shown. Intermittency of the dynamical contraction factor is found, and this behavior is a consequence of the collisions of kinks and antikinks. Fast kinks and antikinks are unstable. The transition from the localized kink to the whirling mode is found to be a temporal bifurcation cascade of generations of kink-antikink pairs and the collision-induced avalanche dynamics. Noise-induced topology transition is observed and discussed.``
